Cleaning Instructions
Squeeky
Kleen is "Food Approved" by the Canadian Food Inspection
Agency. It is a ready to use concentrate that is biodregable and
has no aftertaste. For optimal coffee taste, it is recommended that
you clean your coffee pots, brew funnels and spray heads on a daily
basis to reduce coffee oil and bacteria build-up.
Glass
and Stainless Steel Coffee Pots – 64 oz.
- Turn
the spray tip on your nozzle to a FULLY OPEN position.
- Dispense
three full sprays into the cavity of your coffee pot.
- Fill
your pot to one-quarter full with warm water, and swirl around
inside the cavity creating a sudsing action until the entire surface
is coated. Brush lightly, if required. (For heavily stained pots,
pour in two ounces of Squeeky Kleen, fill and let soak for 20
minutes before cleaning).
- Overflow
your pot with warm running water and at the same time clean the
outside with a non-abrasive pad.
- Thoroughly
rinse with warm running water until there is no sudsing action.
Usually three rinses is sufficient.
Brew
Funnels, Baskets and Stainless Steel Sinks
- Dispense
several sprays of Squeeky Kleen on your brew funnels, baskets
and stainless steel sink. Agitate if necessary and thoroughly
rinse with warm running water.
Spray
Heads / Espresso Group Heads
- Let
soak in undiluted Squeeky Kleen and agitate lightly until all
of the pores are clear. Rinse thoroughly with warm running water.
Mugs
and Cups – Coffee and Tea Stains
- Caustic
powdered cleaners can strip away the protective glaze finish on
your china, causing it to look worn and become more susceptible
to staining. Protect your china investment. Let your coffee
mugs and teacups safely soak in a solution of two ounces of Squeeky
Kleen per litre of water. After soaking follow your standard dishwashing
procedures.
Gravity
Fed Thermal Servers – 84.5 oz.
A
note on leaky thermal servers – some of the reasons why
your thermal server may leak are:
- Coffee
grinds pass through or spill from the brew filter and build up
between the dispensing seals, causing them to leak.
- Coffee
oils and hard water lime deposits build up around the dispensing
valve, preventing it from opening and closing freely. When the
faucet is in the “closed” position, the mechanism
does not make a tight seal, and leaks.
- Undissolved
granules from powdered cleaners can lodge between the seals, causing
them to leak. In some cases, the lodged granules can cause the
seals to “pit” which means you will most likely have
to replace your thermal server.
- Using
harsh chemicals can cause the seals to “harden” and
not make a tight seal when “closed”.
TIP:
If your thermal server is leaking, try pouring in two ounces of
Squeeky Kleen, one- quarter fill with warm
water and let it soak
overnight. The soaking may help fix the leak.
General
Cleaning – Gravity Fed Thermal Servers 84.5 oz.
- Turn
the spray tip on your nozzle to a FULLY OPEN position.
- Dispense
three full sprays into the cavity of your thermal server.
- Fill
your server to one-quarter full with warm water, and swirl (or
replace lid and shake) around inside the cavity creating a sudsing
action until the entire surface is coated. Brush lightly, if required.
(For heavily stained servers, pour in two ounces of Squeeky Kleen,
fill and let soak for 30 minutes before cleaning).
Cleaning
Your Sight Glass Without Removing It
- Pour
one ounce of undiluted Squeeky Kleen into the thermal server and
replace the brew thru lid. If the Squeeky Kleen turns dark, clean
your pot before proceeding.
- Place
your index finger over the brew hole to prevent it from leaking
and tilt the thermal server horizontally, with the sight glass
facing the floor.
- Slowly
rock the thermal server back and forth, running the Squeeky Kleen
up and down the full length of the sight glass. If the Squeeky
Kleen becomes dark in colour, empty and repeat if necessary.
- For
stubborn sight glass stains, pour in two ounces of undiluted Squeeky
Kleen, fill the thermal server with warm water and let soak for
30 minutes.
- Follow
steps 1 – 5 for coffee pots and run your last rinse through
the dispensing faucet.
NOTE:
If you do no remove the sight glass, you may occasionally find what
appears to be a resistant stain on the sight glass.
Please note, in some thermal servers, the sight glass assembly is
not liquid tight to the body of the server. The stain
you see may actually be a coffee stain on the white background behind
the sight glass and not in the glass itself.
The only way to remove this type of stain is to remove the sight
glass assembly and clean the white background.
